Poggenpohl is a ‘Brand of the Century’

Publisher Florian Langenscheidt presents his bestseller ‘Brands of the Century’ in Frankfurt – premium kitchen manufacturer Poggenpohl is among the leaders in German products and services – 200 guests celebrate the new edition of the standard work on German economic history.

After being placed top in the ranking of German luxury brands, premium kitchen manufacturer Poggenpohl from Herford, Westphalia, is now the only German kitchen brand to be included in the standard work ‘Brands of the Century’. Publisher Florian Langenscheidt handed over the award, in the form of a column depicting the brands, to Poggenpohl Managing Director, Elmar Duffner, at a ceremony in Frankfurt. Premium brand Poggenpohl is thus among the leaders in German products and services.

More than 200 guests accepted the invitation from publisher Langenscheidt to attend the book launch at the headquarters of the German Football Association (DFB) in Frankfurt am Main. Like Poggenpohl, the German Football Association and its ‘DFB’ brand now appears for the first time among the ‘brands of the century’.

The new edition of the standard work on German economic history comprises the leaders in German products and services. From Adidas to Haribo and Poggenpohl to Zeiss, the group includes everything that contributes to the good reputation of ‘Made in Germany’.
 
A total of 281 brands are portrayed in the book. Poggenpohl is the only kitchen brand to have made it into the bestseller. The title also appears in two special editions, one in English and one in Chinese. These specials will be handed out to guests at the German pavilion at the football World Cup in South Africa and the World Expo in Shanghai. Poggenpohl Managing Director, Elmar Duffner, is delighted that “This is a fantastic platform for bringing our company and our product to the attention of the international guests”. Copies of ‘Brands of the Century’ are on display at all the German embassies and Goethe Institutes around the world. The individual brands were chosen by an eight-member advisory committee, all of them well-known brand experts including Prof. Dr. Heribert Meffert, Bernd Michael and Jean-Remy von Matt.
